My Mother's Day

Mom's day. Brett was the first one to give me a hug and tell me happy mother's day first thing Sunday morning. He also made a Mother's Day magazine which was all about me at school. It was quite fun to see the answers to the questions....one of my favs... What do you like best about you mom? His answer...what I like best about my mom is that she cleans alot. YES...he does notice. Blake made me a card with his handprints on it (my fav projects the teachers do with the kids....hand and foot prints) with a cute poem about handprints. Then on Sunday morning they gave me a card with a gift certificate to get a pedicure. YEAH....I love pedi's.

Even though my boys push my buttons, drive me crazy on a daily basis, fight and argue daily with each other I wouldn't trade them for anything. They really are "my miracles" and I'm blessed that God chose me to be their mom.

Here are the angels themselves.
A mother's work is never done.....here I am reminding Blake we are trying for a decent picture and would like for him to cooperate.

Slugger Season 2011 has started.

Well Brett's baseball season started tonight. He's playing in the same league (NE Baseball Assoc., Wichita) as last year and on the same team (some of the same boys from last year and some new ones)...Andover Sluggers. I'm not sure who was more excited about the first game....Brett or Marty. Before we left we had to have a quick photo shoot.....

Brett was the lead off batter.....ended up with a double first time up. I guess those trips to the batting cages with Marty are paying off.

Swinging for the fences....ok...so it was just a double but it was a base hit none the less.

The Sluggers pulled out a win tonight, 10-0. Our #5 was 3 for 3 at bat.

We are excited about the season as this is our second year playing in this division and we are hoping for a winning record.

So many posts and so out of order....oh well.

Ok back to last weekend....for my birthday I asked Marty for a scrapbook weekend which was taking place on the west side of Wichita for 3 days!! It was put on by Scrapbook Chicks (www.scrapbookchicks.com). I had met Christie thru my friend Summer and it turned out that her son Zach was on Blake's soccer team this winter. These ladies put on a great crop. Amie, Summer and I packed up our scrappin supplies and headed west. Also at our table were a couple of friends of Summer's, Jennifer and Amy. Between the five of us we had a great time and got lots done. Of course not near enough pics got scrapped but it's more done than when we started.

The hostess' with the mostess!! Christi and Jennifer with their glitter cups...which were pretty cool.....it was definately a lot of glitter and ribbon on one cup.
With our admission we got a bag full of scrappin goodies.

Included in our bad was one of these boxes of buttons. The container itself was just as cool as all the buttons.

The scrapbook chicks even brought part of their store, just in case somebody need extra supplies or that perfect piece of paper.

Here is one side of the room....scrappers working away. If you look closely I'm standing up by our table, (second table on the right).

I haven't scrapbooked myself for about 2 years and it was good to get back to something I enjoy. I hope to maybe whittle away on my "mountain" of pictures in the future....we'll see how that works out. All in all it was a great weekend, I loved it all and hopefully will get to do another next year...hint hint Marty.

Brett's trip to the Zoo and Blake's Spring Program

School is coming to an end which means there's always something going on. This week Blake and I went to the zoo with Brett's class. I had a great group of boys (granted two were my own) but the other two were great at staying together and very attentive to Blake and making sure no one got lost. They even tolerated me taking group pictures whenever I asked.
Brett and his classmates and Blake in the "jungle".

My most favorite part of the day....seeing the baby chimp. I'm not sure how old he/she is or what his/her name is so I'll refer to him/her as "BC aka Baby Chimp" but BC was the cutest thing ever. BC sat next to the glass and would put its hand up when the kids put their hand on the glass.
And then it leaned over and "kissed" the hand.

There was something floating in the air like a feather and BC was trying to catch it.

My group of boys didn't enjoy watching BC as much as I did as they moved onto the next exhibit. There's also an orangutang who is expecting, can't wait to see that little cutie.

Blake being Blake on the memorial statue of Marbles

This peacock was stuttin' his stuff.

Like I said the zoo was fun and the weather was perfect (doesn't happen very often in Wichita, KS).

Wednesday was Blake's spring program at school. As usual he did a great job and loves to sing.

Brett and Blake meet Jordy Nelson

I surprised the boys tonight with a trip to Menards. Now what's so exciting about going to a huge hardware store.....Jordy Nelson was there for their Grand Opening. Those who know us know we love Jordy Nelson. Those that don't....Jordy Nelson is a former Kstater and now plays for the Green Bay Packers. Brett has been a huge fan since he played at KSU. Blake also knows who he is. We stood in line with hats, a jersey, footballs and Brett's copy of Sports Illustrated with Jordy on the cover for 2 hours before we got our autographs. The boys did farely well with the waiting. Lucky for us we had a very nice couple behind us who had an adorable little girl that we chatted with. They were also very tolerable of my boys antics.
The boys meet their idol.

He was so nice to sign all our stuff but because there were soooo many people he signed while the pics were taken to keep the line moving. He was there from 6-8pm and we got our stuff signed at 7:50pm so I don't know if all the people that were still in line got their stuff signed or not.....the line was sooooo crazy long.

Our signed loot. Naturally the first thing the boys asked was if they could take their footballs out of the box and play with them.....UMMMMM NOOOOOO!! I did not stand in line for 2 hours so you could lose/scuff an autographed football.

Sooooo behind in posting this.....

Well here's my Easter post....better late than never I guess. Not sure what happened to last week other than it flew by. Most of the week was preparing for a garage sale that I had with my girlfriends on Thursday and then also preparing for a 3 day scrapbooking retreat here on the west side of Wichita with my girlfriends. So busy but a lot of fun too, plus I made a little money, got rid of some stuff and got a few pictures scrapped that I haven't touch in over two years. (YIKES!), more on that in the next post.

So here is our Easter weekend...we headed to the lake on Thrusday to put the boat and jet ski in the water and also got the lakehouse cleaned and ready for guest. So we colored eggs at the lakehouse to take to Gma's Jeri's on Sunday.

Master Egg Dyer!!

Master Egg Dyer in training.

We celebrated Easter at Gma Jeri's and Papa Corky's. After church there were a few chores to finish up and Blake helped Cousin Erica feed the baby calf.

After dinner....the egg hunt was on....

Brett and Cousin Karlie on the hunt.

Blake looking for eggs in Papa's rubber work boots.....you never know where one will hide them.

Trent helps Blake retreive an egg from the satelite dish.

The great Egg hunters. I totally spaced off taking there pics before church with their Sunday best on....I'll be sure to take one next Sunday for Mother's day.

The "Albright 6 pack".....back row...Emily, Erica, Garrett, Brett...front row...Karlie and Blake.

Not only did we celebrate Easter last Sunday but we also celebrated my in-laws 45th Wedding Anniversary. They will also celebrate again later this summer on an Alaskan Cruise. Congrats Jeri and Corky.

This was really fun to watch...Emily, Erica and Blake playing leap frog.

When we finally returned home the boys found that the Easter Bunny hadn't forgotten them and found their Easter baskets filled with goodies and eggs hidden in the house filled with candy.

It was a whirlwind weekend but all fun.
