Blake finished up soccer

Saturday was Blake's last soccer game for this year. He really enjoyed playing and did really well. His teammates were a good group of kids and his coaches were great with them. We missed the game where the team and individual pictures were taken so I snapped a couple before the game started this weekend.
He played goalie part of the game. He did a good job and didn't allow a score.
However there was some down time when the ball was at the other end of the field and he entertained himself with doing the "crab walk".
Coach Andy handing out the medals. Coach Andy told each child they were a good soccer player and that they should play again. He was a really good coach.
Blake was sooooo excited that he got a medal. He is now just like Brett as Brett has several medals from his past sports and he has hung his medal on his medal plaque and hopes to accumulate more.
Blake will start "big boy baseball" aka T-ball in a couple weeks and he's ready.

Hodge Podge

Well I've got a hodge podge of pics of random things I've made the last week or so. This is obviously for the lakehouse....a place to hang the keys to the "water toys" and such. One of my best customers, roommate Jill, ordered these tiles for the weddings she'll be attending this summer and fall. Worked out perfect when she placed her order that she and Rachael were coming down for a visit and she was able to pick them all up and take them home for her.
This next project was a referral from my friend Summer. She's super busy these days as she's taken on a new adventure.....she's got a new line of products and she's in two stores now....Frou Frou's (Wichita) and Pink Boa (Andover). Check her stuff out at www.thegoodsonsummer.blogspot.com . Anyhow this a confirmation banner for a young lady at Holy Cross. Her mom still has to hem the edges and add the cording...I just did the vinyl work. I thought it turned out really good.
This was a baby gift I gave to a family at our church who recently added Clara to their family. Can't wait to meet her.
Last but not least are some Easter gifts for my nieces....cut out purses with their initials on them and filled with a flip flop sucker (they know their aunt Steph loves flips flops), emery board, gum, and chapstick you know....girl stuff. Unfortunately I could not come up with anything cool for my nephews so they are just getting a goodie bag, but I'm guessing them being boys they could care less what the goods come in.
Next up Blake's last soccer game.

What does one do with 100 bags of mulch......

she spreads it. And that's exactly what I've been doing since Saturday. We were in serious need of mulch as alot of it had washed/blown away the last two years. Today I finally finished up and even mowed the yard. Let the mowing season begin. I can't wait for the rest of the trees/bushes to bloom and fill out. I have at least one plant that I'll need to replace and of course there's always room to add a few more. Here are a few pics of the finished product...I should've take before pics but naturally didn't think of that at the time. Front

As you can see we have a lot of mulch beds but I like to mulch, however I hope I don't have to for awhile. Happy Spring to everyone!!

Another Birthday for me and Picture Revisions

Well yesterday I celebrated another birthday...(which one is not important)....I celebated with Marty taking me out Friday night to dinner (Bonefish Grill...fav place...had some bang bang shrimp, really good wine, and baja mango fish tacos and chips...oh sooo good) and then to a movie...Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McHunk (McConaughey). Really good movie and Marty even stayed awake thru the whole thing so it must have been good. Saturday I loaded and unloaded 80 bags of mulch for our yard. I've got just about all it spread and I probably need another 10 bags. Yes we have alot of mulch beds but it looks so good when it's done. Plus I like to mulch...instant gratification. I also had to fertilize the yard which I hate immensely....no instant gratification. We also had Blake's soccer game at 3p.m. and then it was off to Red Lobster to celebrate's Brett's report card. (The kid could eat his weight in shrimp and scallops...I told Marty not to let him try the lobster or his meals were going to get really expensive.) We got home in time to watch the Final 4 games and Butler is headed to the championship game....Go Bulldogs!! Brett and Blake gave me itunes gift cards so we could download more "rockin music" as Blake says for my ipod to play in the car. And I asked Marty for a scrapbook weekend that's here in Wichita at the end of the month. I'm really excited to attend this with my friends, Amie and Summer. It has been forever since I've scrapped so I'm hoping to be productive and get my list scrapped...yes I've made a list of what I want to get scrapped. The weekend starts at 10 a.m. on Friday and goes till Sunday at noon I think. I doubt I can scrap that much but I'm going to get in as much as I can stand, less a couple of hours on Saturday when I go to Brett's football game. Hopefully I'll have a post that says I accomplished my goal. Sunday was spent spreading more mulch in the 60 mph winds. I finally quit after my eyes were full of dirt. Hopefully tomorrow the winds will be minimal so I can finish. That about sums up my birthday. I have no pictures regarding my birthday but I do have a couple of pictures that I revised. These are pictures of Brett and Blake at 6 mo. I had them hanging in 5x7 frames in the hallway by their bedrooms with the placque you see below. I then found a 12x12 scrapbook paper about adoption that I just loved so I found a piece that had similar colors to it for Brett and then 12x12 frames. I finally got it all put together last week and I love them.
Blake's page says "adopted with love...one sought for you a home that she could not provide...the other prayed for a child and her hope was not denied".
I'd still like to find a paper that says something about first born or something of that nature for Brett but this will do till then.

April's here and lets hope spring is too.
