More of this and that....

It's been a crazy spring now that it has finally showed up....between getting the pool ready and mowing and mowing and more mowing...I do find some time to spend in my room.

Wedding gift for my cousin to give a friend...she wanted something with a cross and this is what we came up with.  I really like this idea and may have to do it again.

Graduation gifts galore...

These are cups I did for the boys' teachers this year for the end of the year.

Tiles for a lady at church to give herself and friends.
My latest refurbishing attempt.  Ksu roomie Jill's, mother in law, bought this and wanted me revamp this so she could enter it in a United Way fundraiser auction coming up in June.  This is the before....

Here is the after...you can't see it real well...but the seat of the chair is bubble gum pink as is the vinyl I put on it.  I found an Audrey Hepburn quote "Happy girls are the prettiest" and decided that would be the theme.  Hopefully this will end up in some little girls room to enjoy.

Another pinterest idea....a tomato plant cage, wrapped in evergreen garland and lights.  Perfect for my front porch planters at Christmas.  Now I just need another helping of evergreen garland and lights and I'll have two....something to be on the hunt for during garage sale season.

A few new things...

I loved this frame and so glad that someone needed a name frame for their daughter's family.
This was made for someone who lost her friend a year ago.  She's giving it to her friend's husband and son.
My sister in laws Mother's day gift for her sweet momma.
I was inspired to do this from Pinterest.  I see lots and lots of things and pin lots and lots of ideas...someday I'll get them all made.

New canvas, wine holder, tile with new style, and wine party decor

This one is hot off the presses...just finished today for my brother's birthday which is next Saturday.  This was kind of a guinea pig gift as I've been wanting to do something like this for quite awhile...now I'm gonna have to do one for myself, making a few changes to make it more personal for me.
This was a gift for Marty from my parents.  My mom made the glass holder, I added the wording and found to glasses with powercats etched them.
Another tile in a different style.  A request from a friend to give as a gift.  Really like this design.
Back in February I helped my mom host a post wedding shower for my brother and his wife.  It was a wine party and I was in charge decor.  Instead of attaching wine charms to the glasses I decored each glass with either a MU or KSU icon in honor of the bride and groom.

I haven't forgot about this one..

Even though it seems like it I haven't forgot about this blog...here's a few items that I've finished recently.

I've had this little chair for quite awhile (bought it at an antique store) and really didn't know what I was going to do with it until now.  My KSU roomie, Jill, has 2 girls Rachael and Rebecca and she lets me indulge on buying and making girly things since I have boys.  For Rachael's first Christmas I redid a small wooden desk all KSU like.  So I decided Rebecca was going to get her very own KSU chair.  Plus her momma would've killed me had a given her another desk to find space for.
The seat says "#1 Cat Fan sits here!"
The back says "I back the Cats!"  I thought it turned out really cute and Rebecca seemed to like as did big sister so I'm sure it'll get a lot of use.  Now the trick will be to find something for the new little sister or brother that's coming in August....YEAH!!!
I made these two frames for my Pastor and his wife to hang in their daughters room.  They have Vivine (8yrs I think) who they adopted from Haiti when she was 3 or so.  And they left this weekend to adopt her sister Rosalineda who is 6 years old.  This has been a long process for them and we are so excited for them to bring her home, however not nearly as excited as Vivine is.
This was a test project...I've been wanting to do something like this for quite awhile and found just the reason to get it done.  My dear friend Cari who has lived in Singapore the last 4 years birthday was in January and because of the time difference and my lack of being with it....I always forget to get her gift/card or even email sent in a timely manner. So I just decided it's better late than never and what a surprise it will be to receive about a month late.  Hopefully she doesn't read this blog very often or it may just ruin the surprise. :)!

I know it's not much but on a side note I did get some much needed scrapbooking done last weekend with KSU roomies.  Hopefully the need to do some more will kick in.  Don't forget to check my other new blog if you want to know what we have been upto lately on the family side:  thelifeofksufans.blogspot.com

I've decided to create another blog for those of you who want to just catch up on my family and leave this site strictly for the stuff I create in hopes to make it easier for those looking for a gift idea. Please bear with me as I get this set up and figured out as I'm fairly techno stupid.

My new blog to follow is: http://thelifeofksufans.blogspot.com/

Brett's Basketball season has started...

Brett's season of hoops has started...his team is made up of boys from his football and baseball team and he is playing in a more competitive league than before. This being said it might be a long season.

Brett's a gambling man....our friend Paul from church is a big KU fan (although he's been known to pull for the Cats occasionally and will admit it) called Brett before the Fiesta Bowl and wanted to make a bet for fun with him.   Paul picked the Ducks with the point spread and of course Brett was pullin' for the Cats.  Needless to say Brett lost that bet and this is what he had to do to to uphold his end of the deal....
Yes...he had to wear a RED KU shirt during church the following Sunday.   Needless to say it was quite the conversation piece that morning...all in good fun.  Brett and Paul have bet before (can't remember what game it was over), but Brett won and Paul had to wear a KSU shirt to church).

Christmas Gifts

Yes I realize Christmas is over but with the holidays I didn't get the gifts that were ordered or done for people so here they are.

For our new neighbors who take care of Sassy when we're gone and their daughter babysits the boys when needed.
A gift for a friend for her step-daughter.
The boys teacher and bus driver gifts.  I filled the KSU plate full of goodies for Bob the bus driver to enjoy after he finished his route.
This is something I made for my SIL...she's going to hang it with a new family pic in the square and each of the kids next to the verse.
This was done for my other SIL to give to her parents.  In the frames she put a picture from her wedding which was in October.
I did this for a co-worker of Marty's to give his wife for Christmas.
