It's all Brett....

Gonna warn you about two things in this post...it's all about Brett and probably pic overload...again.

Thursday night was Brett's music program at school. The theme for the program was "It's all In A Name". Brett had a solo in the song Casey Jones. He did quite well even though he was nervous as heck.

I must give my biased opinion....he looked quite handsome.
Singing his solo. And of course he's always got to be a screwball at some point when I'm taking pics.
Sunday was a "Bo Jackson" day. Brett had his last baseball game for the fall season at 12:40. They pulled out a win 13-12.
He makes contact and ends up getting a homerun due to over thrown balls. A run is a run.
Then it was change uniforms and play football at 3:15. Brett had several good runs/plays. And to not only help his mom out in keeping track of him on the field he now wears pink shoelaces in his cleats and also has pink wrist bands in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.
Here he is on one of his big runs. (Right side of pic. #7)
Escapes on tackle....

...to gain a few more yards.
But can't quite shake this guy.
Here's another run...look for the pink shoelaces and wrist bands.Goes down but covers up the ball to avoid the fumble.Reaches for the pass but doesn't quite reach high enough as the guy behind takes it away.
However Brett doesn't give up and goes after him....
...making the tackle.
Team running thru the Parent Tunnel after their 14-0 Win. The Knights are 6-0!!
All in all it was a great Sunday....long but fun. My parents were able to come down and catch both games, plus we went out to eat and also went to see Dolphin Tale (excellent movie).
It's turning out to be a great football season as all my fav teams are 6-0...Knights, KSU, and Packers!!

Some odds and ends....

I thought I better blog about something since I try to blog at least once a week so this one is just some odds and ends that I've done over the last several weeks.
First up is my new t-shirts for Brett's baseball and football games. Anyone who knows me knows I like "my bling". (In case you can't tell in the pic...the design is all done in small rhinestones.) My friend Summer has started a new line goods and these are just some of what she's been busy doing. Go check her blog for more... www.thegoodsonsummer.blogspot.com. She can hook you up with a shirt for any occassion, sport, holiday ect.
I told Brett he shouldn't have any trouble finding me in the stands now....hahaha.
My friend Kate asked for some help in decorating her daughters room. So between the 3 of us we came up with this saying for one wall.
Another wall she's going to put this shelf to hang her ribbons/medals from. I was so excited when I found these knobs for it. McKenzie's room is purple but her bedspread is all kinds of bright colors....it reminds me a lot of mardi gras colors.
And then on another wall she wanted her name. So I embellished the letters with boas, bling and drama cutouts.
I've also had a couple of orders for anniversarys....these folks are celebrating 25 years.
This one was for my aunt and uncle who celebrated 40 years. (This pic is of it layed out before I finished it as I accidently erased the finished product...oh well you get the idea.)
A friend of mine's husband wanted a gift to take to some people that he hunts on their land and between the two of us we came up with this. I hope they enjoy it.
And another anniversary gift for a friends' parents....Happy 40th to the Oleen's.
That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by. If you see anything you like or want to get started with your Christmas shopping I'd love to help you with your list.

Holy Cross Shopping Bazaar is around the corner.

The 4th Annual Holy Cross Shopping Bazaar at Holy Cross Lutheran Church (600 N. Greenwich, Wichita) is November 5, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Over 75 Vendors providing crafts and products. Food and drinks are also available for purchase. My friend Patti is in charge of this and she does a great job of putting it together. It's a great event. Summer and I will once again have a booth. Summer's got a whole new line of goods...check her blog for a preview... www.thegoodsonsummer.blogspot.com.
I can say I learned from last years show that people were mostly intersted in Christmas items and the frosted luminaries were the biggest hit. So I've concentrated on that for this years show. Here are some pics of what will be at the show. This is not everything...just a highlight as I'm still putting inventory together.
This little jar would be good to fill with treats for neighbors, co-workers, teachers, family or grab gifts in the office. Just a few ideas.
I'm not sure how much I, personally, will be at this show as it's Brett's last football game but my items will be there and Summer is going to take care of it for me. What a gem she is.

Another Exciting Day of Football!

Today the Knights took on the Vikings. Both teams went in today's game undefeated and the Vikings are the reigning champs from last year. So we knew it would be a tough game, we just didn't know how tough. It was neck and neck but our offense scored late in the 4th quarter and our defense held tight to pull out the win 13 to 12. It was a fun and exciting game.

Brett playing the fake (coming this way next to #11).
Action photo....
Another...
After their games the parents make a tunnel for them to run through.
Not only did the Knights pull off a big win but so did our Cats. We got home to watch most of the game. I also realized today as I was watching the Cats on TV at home that this was my second home game to miss as season ticket holder since 1993. The first game was when Brett was born (he was born on a Monday and I missed the following game...didn't think I should drag a 6 day old baby to a game no matter how dedicated I was.) and today being the second. Times are changing as I'm sure this won't be the last home KSU game we miss. All it all it really doesn't matter as both games were exciting and it's also nice they both came out with a win. Tomorrow its off to Slugger baseball.

Knights Football, Sluggers baseball and Sistas'

Our Saturday started off with Brett's football game...the Knights are now 3-0!! They won 34-0 (a little like KSU style last week...a high scoring shut-out). The team we played was struggling a little so it gave our team a chance to let some of the kids that don't always get to carry the ball...carry and score. Plus we got lots of defense practice as our coaches allowed the opposing team to have the ball the 2nd half until they scored...unfortunately our defense put the stop on them the entire 2nd half and we never did get the ball back. Oh well....it was still a good game.

Brett in action....#7.Getting ready for the kick-off..Brett's second from the right.
Sunday afternoon...Brett changed gears and played baseball. Again the Sluggers went down swinging, but the excitement of the game was when Brett went in as pitcher. At this stage Coach is letting anyone pitch that wants to in hopes of finding a couple of kids that have some talent. Brett, of course, will try anything once. All in all he didn't do too bad....he doesn't throw real hard yet but he didn't hit anyone and he did strike two kids out.
I love the action photos......
And his facial expressions....
Look at that long arm...
Last but not least, Saturday after the football game we headed to Marty's sister's place for the Annual Albright Fish and Nut (Mountain Oyster) Fry. Marty's parents, siblings, spouses, and kids have put this on for about 16 years now. It's always a good time with good food. The sister's decided we needed a photo. The other excitement before the Fish Fry started was listening to the KSU vs. Miami game....whoohooo the Cats pulled out a great win. Love to see them pull together with heart and determination. Proud to be a Wildcat, but then again I'm always proud to be one!!
(L-R) Kay Albright soon to be Andler, Amy (Albright) Pruyser, myself, Barb (Bayless) Albright and Jenny (Bayless) Brading. Obviously Jenny isn't an Albright but we included all sisters and I've known Jenny and Barb since we were kids.

Knights Football...We're 2-0!!

Saturday was Brett's second game of tackle football (our first game to see since we were in Vegas for the first game.) they won 37-6. They also won last weeks game 25-10. It's really fun to watch even though sometimes it's so fast I miss it, like getting Brett's two touchdowns on camera!! Next week I'm going to have to make sure I sit in a better spot.

Go #7 (which should be #5, but that's another story). And yes we have navy shirts and socks with black pants....obviously they didn't ask the mom's for our opinions of uniform colors.
We have some enthusiastic mom's that made the banner for the boys to run through and one mom even has an airhorn she sounds off after each score.
Brett was selected to be one of the team captains this game...he's in the middle.
Brett's in the backfield (the one without the red shoes.)
Brett had a couple good tackles...this being one of them.Brett on the sideline waiting to go back in.
After Brett's game we headed straight to Manhattan for the KSU game. Another win in our favor...way to go Cats!! We stayed at the lakehouse only to get up to head to Brett's baseball game but the much needed rain cancelled that. Even though we were a little bummed about not watching some baseball today the rain is greatly appreciated.
